He was predeceased by: his parent Sarah E. McLain (Simpson). He is survived by: his nieces, Stephanie Mockobee (David), Marion, Michelle Kassambala (Baba Kalidi) and Stacy Bell; his nephew Steve McLain (Shari); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Gabriele Hernandez, Zachary Hernandez, Mackenzie Case, Sinhue Mockobee II, Kylie McLain, Marissa McLain, Joshua Disney, Ryan Disney and Jessica McLain; his close friends, Marva, Todd and Misty; his pet Roscoe; his brothers, Richard "Dick" McLain, Billy Joe McLain and Paul McLain (Mickey); his nephew Kenneth Bell; and also, Jazlyn Cole, Klover McLain, Izzabella McLain and Abraham McLain.

Jerry was a giving man, he donated a lot of time and funds to different organizations to help other succeed.
