He was predeceased by: his mother Leona Barley, Sr. (McElhany); his daughter Candace Timms; and his stepson Zachary Shackleford. He is survived by: his wife Maryann Barley; his father Bernard L. Barley Sr. (Marion); his children, Jamie Davis and Marion; his stepchildren, Joshua Shackleford (Jamie), West and Holly Shackleford Trivisonno; his siblings, John Barley (Lisa) and Ruth Williams (Jim); his grandchildren, Alexis Adams (Dominic), Evan Martz (Shelby), Taylor "Tva" Martz, Savi Trivisonno, Sony Trivisonno and Braxton Davis; and his great grandchildren, Kingston Byers and Beau Byers.
