He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Porter and Betty Porter (Axton); his son John Richard Porter; and his siblings, Bob Porter, Rick Porter and Clessie Hayes.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Kelsey Jones of Marion; his stepchildren, Jim Bush (Jenny) and Kim Oakes (Roy); his siblings, Debbie Kennedy, Bernice Atkins, Dave Porter, Bill Porter and Paul Porter (Laura); his great grandchildren, Carly and Maci; and his former wife Patricia Pickup. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
