She was predeceased by: her parents, George Bruce and Martha Smith (Whelan); her sons, Steven and Ricky Young; and her siblings, Donnie, Joan, Michael and Garland.

She is survived by: her husband Vernon Young; her children, Vickie Meyer (Steve), Vernon Young Jr. and Michael Young (Amy); and her siblings, George Jr., Richard, Gloria, Kevin, Becky, Carol and Yvonne. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
