He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond "Bill" Stephan and Virgie Browning Stephan; and his daughter Evonne L. Stephan. He is survived by: his wife Frances E. Whitaker Stephan of Madison, Indiana; his son Darren Stephan (Sherri) of Crestwood, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Ryan, Caitlin, Tara and Nickolas; his great grandchildren, Lance, Gabriella, Xavier and Isabella; his brother Monty L. Stephan (Nancy) of Madison, Indiana; and his nieces, Nathalie and Lisa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ryker's Ridge Baptist Church, the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or the American Stroke Foundation.
