He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Richard Turner and Arvenia Bladen Whiteford; his wife Trish Hereford; and his brother Garry Richard Turner. He is survived by: his son Nicholas Cody Turner of Madison, Indiana; and his siblings, Robert D. "Whitey" Whiteford of Madison, Indiana and Angela "Angie" Lee Whiteford Lobb (Phillip) of Madison, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Music Movement.
