With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nathaniel Douglas Ritchie of Madison, Indiana, born in Louisville, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 14, 2025 at the age of 24. He was predeceased by: his grandmother Marjorie Logsdon; his uncle Dorrell "Eddie" Ritchie; his aunt Tabatha Buerke; and his great-uncle James "Moe" Logsdon. He is survived by: his parents, Brandon Buerke of Madison and Chasity Ritchie-Johnson; his father-in-law Steven of Madison; his siblings, Wyatt Buerke (Layla Vonch) of Madison and Heather Bennett (Dylan) of Madison; his grandmother Mary Ritchie of Madison; his nieces and nephews, Jameson, Emery, Rylan Bennett and Paisley Mae; his grandfather Ronald Shelton of Dupont, Indiana; his uncle Chris Logsdon of Indiana; his aunt Shantell Ritchie of Madison; his cousins, Bianca, Trishell, Malachi, Zeke, Benjamin and Teleah; his great-aunts, Regina Powell and Anna Douglas; and his great-uncle Frankie Logsdon.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel (117 Holt Dr, Madison, IN 47250). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Nathaniel Ritchie Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
