He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Lee and Mary Imogene Gossom (Gatewood); and his sister Brenda Staples. He is survived by: his children, Laura, Jonathan (Rebekah) and Sarah (David); his grandchildren, Lillie, Jack, Amelia, Carson and Graham; his great grandchildren, Hudson and Hank; and his siblings, Terry Gossom, James Gossom, Vickie Butler, Kenny Gossom, Cheryl Pettit, Eddy Gossom and Donny Gossom. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel (117 Holt Dr, Madison, IN 47250). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at the Moffett Cemetery.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
