He was predeceased by: his father Richard T. "Buck" Shipley; and his grandparents, Richard B., Mary Louise Hoagland Shipley, Jack and Virginia Roberts McCarty.
He is survived by: his mother Judith "Judy" McCarty Shipley of Madison, Indiana; his wife Leslie Lynn Stewart Shipley of Madison, Indiana; his stepdaughters, Courtney Carraco of Madison and Caitlyn Hammond of Madison, Indiana; his stepgrandsons, Brody and Carter Carraco; and his sisters, Karen Shipley Brown (Kevin) of Bloomington and Linda Shipley Manning (Patrick) of Charlestown, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
