He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Elizabeth Steinborn Waltz and Francis Carl Waltz; his son-in-law Ron Blanchard; his grandson Kyle Blanchard; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Thornberry and David Platz.
He is survived by: his wife Roxanne Thornberry Waltz of Madison, Indiana; his children, Karen Blanchard of Rolling Prairie, Kelly Waltz (Corrina) of Ivanhoe, Keith Waltz (Becki) of LaPorte, Leslie Phelps (William) of Madison, Indiana and Justin Kanger (Jen) of Michigan City, Indiana; his grandchildren, Cody (Mariah), Kevin, Austin, Whittney, Sandra, Morgan, Iyana and Kamea; his great grandchildren, Kennedy and Grant; and his siblings, John Waltz (Lori) of LaPorte, Indiana, Janice Casper (Andy) of LaPorte and Ellen Platz (Todd) of Erie, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
