It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph F. Smith of Madison, Indiana, born in Wingate, Indiana, who passed away on May 27, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard B. Smith and Pearl Smith; his wife Clara Cox Smith; and his siblings, Louis, Arthur, Morris Smith, Geraldine Cox, Hazel Foxworthy and Judy Jones.
He is survived by: his children, David Smith of Crawfordsville, Marcia Rhoads (Barry) of Brownsburg, Mark Smith (Susan) of Crawfordsville, Dale Smith (Ruth) of Bowling Green, Ohio and Donna Church (Dave) of Fishers; and his grandchildren, Serena Sherriff (Duncan), Jathan Rhoads (Fauna), Hannah Hartley (Barrett), Aaron Rhoads (Shanele), Kyle Smith (Anika), Kelly Smith, Eric Church, Megan Linsenbigler (Adam), Caleb Church (Kristin), Padraic Smith (Holly), Isaac Smith (Mackenzie), Micah Smith (Abbey) and Eli Smith. He is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren.
