He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Beatrice Bell Garvey and John W. Garvey, Sr.; his sister Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Garvey Chase; his granddaughter Katelyn "Katie Bug" BreAnn Tullis; his siblings-in-law, Tony Jester and Deborah Jester Roberts; and his parents-in-law, William F. Jester and Stella Mae Breeden Jester.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Patty" Ann Jester Garvey of Madison, Indiana; his children, Tonya Michelle Tullis (Jeff) of Madison, Indiana and John William Garvey (Becky) of Vevay, Indiana; his grandchildren, Toran Adams (Lauren), Ryan Adams (Kayla Rodriguez), Makenna Tullis, Cameron "Cami" Garvey and Baylee "Boo" Garvey; his great grandchildren, Ella, Ava, Nova and Carter "Bo Carter"; his sisters, Debra Coghill of Carrollton, Pamela Bradley of Versailles, Sandra Bush (Don) of Versailles, JoAnn Boldery (Tim) of Madison and Brenda Wilson (Tony) of Madison, Indiana; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Cole (Randy) of Madison and Stephen Goldsmith of Madison, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
