He was predeceased by: his parents, Ola Mae Pickeral Crawley and Thomas Ramsey Crawley; his siblings, Samuel "Biddy" Crawley (Danny Crawley), Irene Crawley David, Gail Crawley Perkins, Janice Crawley and Jeanette Bailess; and his granddaughter Kelly Litsey.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Lisa; his wife Judie Dale Short Crawley of Madison, Indiana; his children, James Earnest Crawley, Jr. (Myra) of Hanover, Michael Crawley of Plainfield, Phillip Crawley of Edinburgh, Jonathan Crawley (Stacy) of Madison, Indiana and Lisa Holloway (Tim) of Lanesville, Indiana; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Charlie), Christopher (Brittany), DeShanon, Stefanie (Dimitri), Anthony, Drew (Haley), Amber (Ethan), Leesa Ann (Justin), Kole and Montana (Tavonte); his siblings, Russell Crawley (Peggy) of Chatham, Virginia, Christine Oakes (Dwight) of Gretna, Shirlene Barley (Donnie) of Hurt and Carolyn Crawley Bailess (Scotty); and his siblings-in-law, Judy Crawley of Center, Martha Crawley of Evington, Ruth Rice of Alta Vista, Virginia and Calvin Perkins of Gretna, Virginia. He is also survived by his 14 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
