He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Gotts and Norma Stone Gotts; his son Grant Gotts; and his siblings, Nadine Gotts and Dr. Ernest Gotts.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Gotts; his children, Gregory Gotts (Lisa) of Truckee, California, Gary Gotts of Madison and Kimberly Gotts of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren, Mitchell Silvers (Cheyanne), Ethan Gotts (Allie White), Kenneth Benefield, Isabella Grace Gotts and Heather Savoie; his great grandchildren, Joah Gotts, Rosalie Silvers, Evelyn Silvers, Elliana Silvers, Korbin, Kyler Savoie and Koraline Savoie; and his siblings, John Gotts of Santa Rosa, California and Ellen Long of Warrensburg, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
In 2020, during COVID, Ed's daughter Kimberly moved to Madison to help look after him and her brother Gary.
