He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis, Sr. Winkle and Dixie Mosley Van Winkle; his siblings, Ralph Van Winkle, Walter "Pud" Van Winkle, Gerald Wade Van Winkle, Ellis Van Winkle, Jr., Joseph Miller Van Winkle, Carolyn Kathleen Smith and Virginia Rae "Jenny" Van Winkle; his parents-in-law, Robert B. Breeck and Geneva E. Netherland Breeck; his sons-in-law, Tommie Bovard and Jeffrey Funk; and his grandson Noah Harrison Breeck.
He is survived by: his wife Jerilyn Breeck Van Winkle of Madison, Indiana; his stepchildren, Truman Halcomb, Jody Michael Breeck of Vevay, Scott Edward Arvin (Kathy) of Madison, Mark Thomas Arvin (Bobby Ferguson) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Molli Arvin Bovard Funk of Costa Rica; his grandchildren, Logann, Jaxton, Brylee, Christian, Adam, Megan, Coley and Heather; his great grandchildren, Kynlee, Stella, Sawyer and Segar; his brother Ernest "Ernie" Van Winkle (Stella) of Bristol, Indiana; and his brother-in-law Norvin Breeck (Kathie) of Branson, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
