He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Margaret Vestile Lyon and Gale Leon Lyon; his brother Franklin Lyon; and his grandparents, Franklin, Della Matthews Vestile, Glenn and Mamie Cutshall Lyon.
He is survived by: his brother David Lyon (Jenny) of Canaan, Indiana; his nephews, Randy Lyon and Matthew Lyon (Jessica); his aunt Vicki Jones of Milton; and his uncle Gary Lyon (Janice) of Madison, Indiana.
