He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor B. Maikranz and Hilda F. Maikranz (Martin); his wife Helen M. Maikranz (Carter); his siblings, Kenneth Maikranz, Bill Maikranz (Marion), Bob Maikranz, Mara Lou Williams (James) and Lois Morgan (Henry); and his close friends, Fonnie Young and Linda McCammon.

He is survived by: his children, Donna Nichols, Mike Maikranz (Linda Barker), Tony Maikranz and Tara Buck (Wayne); his grandchildren, Misty Richardson (Bob), Ben Maikranz, Jessica Cox (Ben) and Jeremy Buck; his great grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Remington, Peyton, Heydon Richardson, Ezra and Abigial Cox; and his granddaughter Bella.
