He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Steele and Ruth Steele (Lehman); his wives, Janet Steele (Mullis) and Marilyn Steele (Gillespie); and his brother Jack Steele.
He is survived by: his children, Beth McMillin (Doug) of Plainfield, Steve Steele (Tammie) of Lyons and Daniel Steele (Lori) of Linton; his grandchildren, Zachary McBride (Julie), Aaron McMillin (Victoria), Rachel Delp (Aaron), Nathaniel Steele, Megan Steele-Holdaway (Josh), Erica Stuppy-Hopwood (Caleb) and Caleb Steele (Natalie); his sister Loretta Johnson (Paul); and his sister-in-law Nedra Steele. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
