It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Deloris Eloise Newkirk (Lyons, Indiana), who passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Owen Edgar and Mary Ausman (Sensney); and her brothers, John R. Sensney of Indianapolis, Charles W. Ausman of Battle Ground and Owen Richard Ausman of St. Francisville, Illinois..
She is survived by: her children, Michael J. Cone of Freelandville, Jeanne A. Fields of Franklin, Judith N. Reynolds (Brett) of Freelandville, John A. Newkirk of Westphalia and James S. Newkirk (Jeanna) of Edwardsport, Indiana.; her brother Perry Lee Ausman (Caroline) of Linton; and also Michele Daffron of Vincennes. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to: Indiana Talking Book & Braille Library, Indiana State Library, 140 N. Senate Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204, which has provided Deloris many hours of enjoyment since 1985.
