Sandra M. Thornburg Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 17, 2025, at the age of 89, Sandra M. Thornburg (Lynn, Indiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Sandra shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Sandra farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Bretzinger and Treva Bretzinger; and her brother Robert Bretzinger (Bob). She is survived by: her husband Robert Eugene Thornburg; and her children, Mike Thornburg (Denise), Greg Thornburg, Cindy Williams (Philip) and David Thornburg. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Wilson-Shook Funeral Homes and Cremation Center (Thomas Memorial Chapel) (108 Sherman St, Palmyra, IL 62674). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the First Church of Christ of Lynn, Indiana (206 W Church St, Lynn, IN 47355).
In memory of Sandy and her love for her Lord, we welcome donations to the scholarship fund of Johnson University of Knoxville, Tennessee or Western Buckeye Christian Camp of Houston, Ohio in lieu of flowers.
