She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Nelson and Elsa Nelson (Richason); her husband John R. "Jack" Herd; her siblings, Evelyn E. Heckard and Donald Nelson; and her sister-in-law Sallie Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Denny Herd (Lori) of Lucerne, Michael D. Herd (Sheri) of Logansport, Tim Herd (Lisa) of Muncie and Lori Bond (Brad) of Anderson; her grandchildren, Erin Keffaber (Brad), Abby Vander Veer (Sean), Taylor Herd (Ben Ice), Jaryn Becker (David), Tara Shidler (Brock), Eric Russow (Ashton) and Jaclyn Stephenson (Nicholas); and her great grandchildren, Grant Keffaber, Ava Stephenson, Ethan Keffaber, Ella Stephenson, Ryla Stephenson, Madelyn Shidler, Ravyn Becker, Jack Shidler and Presleigh Russow.
