He was predeceased by: his wife Josephine "Jo" Schweitzer; his parents, John Schweitzer and Lauretta Schweitzer; his brothers, Herbert, Arthur, Vernon and Sylvester Schweitzer; and his sons-in-law, Jeff Lane and John Fitzgerald.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Schweitzer (Jeri) of Lowell, Mary Jo Lane of St. John, Janine Fitzgerald (Troy Smith) of Lowell and Mark Schweitzer (Marisa) of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Vanessa Talbert (Mike), Valarie Batuello (Tony), Michael Wiltshire (Caitlyn), David Wiltshire, Kelly Fitzgerald (Ryan Ortega), Jonathon Fitzgerald (Regen Smith), Brianna Bernacchi (Greg) and Adam Schweitzer (Taylor); and his sisters, Wilma Smith and Mary O'Drobinak. He is also survived by seven great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
