With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen M. Lewandowski of Lowell, Indiana, who passed away on March 10, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Helen departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Helen. Though Helen may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her husband Norbert L. Lewandowski; her parents, John Sorota and Mary Sorota; and her brother John Sorota (late Judy). She is survived by: her stepdaughters, Marchell Barkey (Robert) and Colette Lewandowski (late Linda Fry); her nieces, Susan Harris (Aaron) and Nancy Poznick (Tom); her nephew John Sorota Jr. (Ann); and her close friend Barbara Diggs.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Thomas More Church (8501 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN 46321). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
