He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis H. Porter and Lily Ruth Harbison Porter; his daughter Opha Faye Porter; his wife Gladdis June Porter; and his siblings, Alvie Porter, Phillip Porter and Louise Roach.
He is survived by: his son Thomas Hugh Porter (Janet); his grandchildren, James "Jim" Porter and Jennifer Wheeler; his great grandchildren, Meredith Wheeler and AubreyAnna Steiner; his niece Wilma Terrell (Charles); his son-in-law Stanley Sims; his siblings, Sylvester Porter (Helen), Ronnie, Charlie Lee Porter (Brenda), Luvena Porter Hichman and Faye Porter; his sister-in-law Faith Beals (Bill); and also Wilma Faye Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
