With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russell Pankey of Loogootee, Indiana, born in Linton, Indiana, who passed away on June 28, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell W. Pankey and Virginia Rose Pankey (Haffley); his son John Russell Pankey; his granddaughter Briana Varela; his siblings, Patrick L. Pankey, Luanna Kay Pankey, Sherry Pankey Vogler and James Pankey; his stepdaughter Debby Bowers; and his niece Mandy White.
He is survived by: his daughter Kimberly Varela; his stepdaughter Karen Sherfick (Joe); his grandchildren, Michael Pankey, Daniel Varela, Abbie Sherfick, AJ Sherfick, Carissa King, Derrick Pendley and Dustin Pendley; his great grandchildren, Tyler Varela and Bailee Irwin; his sister-in-law Waynette Pankey (Diane Pankey); and his nephews, Jim Pankey and Michael Pankey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
