He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Halbert and Lydia Halbert (Butcher); his siblings, John Halbert (Cora), Bernice Williams (Bud), Beatrice Caton, Pauline Owens (Jesse) and Esther Billings (Robert); and his siblings-in-law, Judy Wease and Larry Strawn.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene (Strawn); and his siblings-in-law, Mike Strawn (Millie) of Florida, Tony Wease of Loogootee and Mary Ann Strawn of Evansville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Martin County Humane Society.
