He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Houchin and Daphne Mae DeJarnett Houchin; his siblings, Burl Houchin, Authur Lee Houchin, Frank Houchin, Bryce Houchin, Robert, Bonnie Whitney, Maxine Riley, Imojean Matthews, Alice "Judy" Mason, Rosemary "Susie" Smith and Grace; and his children, Herman Wayne and Tonya Renae. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
