He was predeceased by: his parents, Danny Dean and Mary Jane Peters (Jarrell); his wife Diane Peters; his sister Carole J. McPhearson; and his sister-in-law Marie Hagan.
He is survived by: his children, Christen Peters of Greenfield, Audrey Peters of Indianapolis and Jason Peters (Susan) of Elwood; his brothers, James "Mike" Peters (Pam) of Elwood and David Peters (Helen) of Elwood; his grandchildren, Katharine Peters, Nathan Peters (Elizabeth McCormick), Luke Peters, Elizabeth Rice, Amelia Peters and Henry Peters-Gomez; his great grandchildren, Bryson Peters, Estelle "Stella" Crawford, Nathaniel Peters, Kori Peters and Charlotte "Charlie" Rice; and his brothers-in-law, David McPhearson and John Hagan. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
