He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter P. McCrea and Alma McCrea (Webber); his wife Lois Jean McCrea (Johnson); his brother Robert McCrea; and his son-in-law Joe Allen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kathleen Allen of Logansport and Margaret (Jim Nicholson); and his grandchildren, Emily Perry, Lisa Reed (Aaron), Jeff Allen (Rhonda), Edye Barber (Pat), Tom Nicholson (Tory), Tim Nicholson (Katie), John Nicholson (Megan) and Ben Nicholson (Anna). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions may be best expressed with a contribution to the Lois Jean McCrea Nursing Scholarship through the Cass County Community Foundation.
