He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Mize and Mary Mize (Collins); his siblings, Jane Mize and John Albert Mize; and his sister-in-law Patricia Mize.

He is survived by: his children, Sarah Conklin (William) of Kokomo, John Mize (Jaymee) of Logansport and Donald Kauffman of North Vernon; his siblings, Russell Mize of Logansport and Debra Kime of Royal Center; and his grandchildren, Thomas Conklin and Kristin Conklin.
