He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Phillip and Mildred Bowman (Cart); and his siblings, Marion, Truman, Hubert "Huey", Raymond, Larry, Victor, John and Janice Holmes.
He is survived by: his brothers, Herbert D. Bowman (Mary Ann) of New Waverly, IN, William Bowman (Jan), Gerald Bowman of Peru, IN and Richard Bowman (Sondra). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews.
