He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Albert and Mildred Catherine Offenberger (Schaad); and his siblings, Rosemary Offenberger and Harold "Sonny" Offenberger Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lynn Offenberger (Turnpaugh); his children, Stephanie Shafer (Scott) of Logansport, IN and Kevin Offenberger (Andrea) of Denver, IN; his siblings, Margaret Tomblin, Joan Dean, Earl Offenberger, Mary Rita Blanchard, John Offenberger and James "Jim" Offenberger; his grandchildren, Zachary Shafer (Amanda), Jesse Shafer (Kate), Brittney Scales (Daniel) and Dustin Offenberger (Livy); and his great grandchildren, Noah Shafer, Jovanna Shafer, Beckett Scales, Ashton Scales and Boaz Shafer.
