She was predeceased by: her parents, Schuyler Conklin and Edna Conklin (Reeves); her husband Paul F. James; her sons, Jeff James and Rodger James; her sons-in-law, Wayne Cook and Dick Bell; and her siblings, Leroy Conklin, Lloyd Conklin and Bessie Sterrett.
She is survived by: her children, Larry James, Linda Cook, Carolyn Bell of Beaufort, SC and Trish Morris (Tim); and her daughter-in-law Reba James. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great- grandchildren.
