He was predeceased by: his parents, James Frank Cox, Jr. and Claretta Cox (Easterday); his sister Doris Joan Cox; his grandparents, James Frank Cox, Sr. and Lucy Josephine Cox (Brown); and his cousins, Sandra Maughmer and Michael Spencer.
He is survived by: his cousin Roger "Buzz" Spencer (family: Jim Langley, Josh Bell, Chuck Campbell, Dale Forgey). He is also survived by friends that were like his family.
