He was predeceased by : his parents, Norbert L. Barrett and Eleaner C. Fettig Barrett; his wife Sharon Leazenby Barrett; his siblings, Vincent Barrett, Charles Barrett, William "Bill" Barrett and Mary Ann Penz; and his brother-in-law Mark Penz.

He is survived by : his children, Cathy Barrett Bryan, Mike Barrett (Barb), Steve Barrett (Michelle) and Julie Barrett Johnson; his grandchildren, Ashley Groganz (Eric), Brianna Barrett Cover (Kyle), Nathan Bryan (Isabelle), Megan Barrett, Alison Wheeler (Jon), Alex Barrett (Brenna) and Maxwell Johnson; and his sister-in-law Sarah Barrett. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home (711 E Market St, Logansport, IN 46947). A funeral service was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
