He was predeceased by: his parents, Hezekiah Neal and Bessie Bryant Franklin; and his brothers, Hezekiah Franklin, Jr., James Franklin, Jackie Franklin and Ray Franklin.
He is survived by: his children, George L. Franklin Jr. (Dee Dee), Sharon Bassett of Boxford, MA, Ted Franklin (Teresa) of Bluffton, SC. and Jackie Buchanan of Norton, VA; his sister Jean Baugh of Duffield, VA; his former wife Shirley Dotson Franklin; his grandchildren, Tera Furman (Cory), Travis Franklin (Rachel), Emily Myers, Chase Myers (Taylor), Alex Bassett (Larissa), Nick Bassett (Diana), Jeremy Franklin, Courtney Franklin, Savanah Strever (Andrew), Christina Thacker (Jordan) and David 'DJ Buchanan; and his great grandchildren, Mackin Furman, Zigler Furman, Kai Franklin, Luca Strever, Brady Thacker, Brennan Thacker and Atlas Thacker.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Cass County Senior Center, 115 S. Sixth Street, Logansport IN.
