He was predeceased by: his father Gary L. Knapp; and his stepmother Connie Knapp. He is survived by: his mother Elizabeth "Lyddy" Knapp (Helms); his children, Kiley Knapp, Kaleb and Kaiden Knapp; his sister Emma L. Jones (Matthew) of Logansport; and his stepbrothers, Eric McIntire (Rebecca) of Rochester, Shannon McIntire (Andrea) of Frankfort and Brandon McIntire (April) of Fort Wayne.
