He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert G. Hardesty and Mary Lou Archer Hardesty; and his sister Betty Rene. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Garrett and Chad Jackson; his granddaughter Alison Jackson of Linton, IN; and his sisters, Jeannine Denman of Dugger, IN, Susan G. Souders of Linton, IN and Angela Hardesty of Blackwood.
