He is survived by: his fiancée Judy Wagler; his children, John Douglas Powell (Cheryl Coulter) of Linton and Sherry Perkins of North Port, FL; his grandchildren, Levi Powell, Breely Carpenter, Ashtynn Powell, Carsyn Carpenter and Ayla Powell; his great grandchild Layne Lloyd; and his sisters, Karen Dillion of Georgia, Catherine Cox of Virginia and Nancy Pritchard of Linton.
