He was predeceased by: his wife Beatrice Burns; his parents, Randle Burns and Virgie Burns; his son George Burns; his grandson Jarrod Thomas; and his siblings, Donald Burns, George Burns, James Burns, Lila Hewitt, Dorothy Burns, Anna Sattison, Corda Hunt and Carol Davis.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Burns (Joan) of Millersburg, IN, Diana Burns of Ligonier, IN and Victoria Metz of Kingman, AZ; his stepchildren, John "Jack" Sawicki (Connie) of Ligonier, IN, Jerry Sawicki of Ligonier, IN, Dorothy Hall (Shirl), Linda and Marshall of Ligonier, IN; and his siblings, Clifford Burns of Kimmell, IN and Imaboy Johnson of Kansas. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
