He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gangwer and Thella Gangwer; and his siblings, Laura Alfrey, Maxine Tedrick, Helen Stanger, Latice Smith, Geraldine Gangwer Tracy, Mary "Eileen" Mynhier, Hershal Gangwer, Delois Gangwer and Thurlow Gangwer.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lou Hawkins of Ligonier, IN; his daughter Patsy Pippenger of Elkhart, IN; his grandchildren, Dave Schmidt, Terrel, Troy, Tracy Pippenger, Spenser Strong, Natasha Smith of Cromwell, IN and Veronica Strong of Ligonier, IN; his great grandchildren, Wesley Strong of Cromwell, IN, Jaylyn Coy, Xavia Strong of Ligonier, IN and Nova Strong of Cromwell, IN; and his brothers, Delvin Gangwer of Middlebury, IN and Delbert Gangwer of New Paris, IN..
