She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Calvin Brown; her parents, William Coleman "W. C." Mayhew, Sr. and Laura Florence Shelton Mayhew; her daughter Cynthia Ann Brown; and her brothers, Melvin Mayhew (Hilma), Gene Mayhew (Merle), W. C. Mayhew, Jr. (Tippy) and Roy Mayhew (Peggy). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Midway Baptist Church, 2136 Midway Road, Gretna, VA 24557.
