He was predeceased by: his parents, George McZegle and Bertha Kruse (Schotts); his stepfather Vernon Kruse; and his siblings, Wayne McZegle, Barbara Walter and Mary Ann Robertson.

He is survived by: his wife Michelle McZegle of Liberty Center; his children, Joe McZegle of Bluffton, Randy McZegle of Washington, Rick McZegle (Natalie) of Ft. Wayne and Rhonda Fisher (Steven) of Huntington; and his siblings, Darrell Kruse of Fairmont, OK and Karen Wazny (Murray) of Oklahoma City, OK. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
