He is survived by: his children, Kimberly M. Baze (Donald) of Granger, Sherry J. Mendenhall (Thad) of Freemont, Jamie A. Lanning (Jason) of Angola, Indiana and James R. "Mac" Shepherd, Jr. (Madelyn James) of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; his siblings, Alfred "Yogi" Shepherd (Nancy) of Ft. Wayne, Robert "Bob" Shepherd of Lexington, Indiana, Tina Rollins of West Portsmouth and Elaine Stapleton of West Portsmouth; and his grandchildren, Cheyene Guthrie (T. J.), Tyler Meyer, Dylan Peppler, Hunter, Logan Church, Alivea Shepherd and Hope Lanning.
