He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence Leo Coomes; his former wife Dorcas Coomes; his brothers, Jerry Coomes and Freddie Coomes; and his brothers-in-law, Bobby Nichols and Ed Massey.
He is survived by: his wife Myra Coomes (Dilger); his children, Dawn Mays (Joshua) of Scottsburg, Indiana, Jeff Coomes (Sarah Gibson) of Lexington and Jamie Coomes (Jana) of Plano, Texas; his sisters, Norma Massey, Judy Nichols and Brenda Bright (Bobby); his grandchildren, Jesse Mays, Jaylah Mays, Hayden Coomes, Jaxon Konkler and Tristan Konkler; and his pet Freckles.
