He was predeceased by: his parents, Ovid Bauer and Beulah Bauer (Miller); his wife Marjorie Abbott; and his brothers, John, Donald, Clarence and Joe.
He is survived by: his children, Harold "Hal" Bauer, Jr. (Candy) of Leo, Marla Rumschlag (Joe) of Fort Wayne and Kara Straessle (Ron) of Fort Wayne; and his siblings, Richard Bauer (Bev Fairchild), Paul Bauer (Sandy), Evelyn Gilliam, Gertrude Meyer and Agnes Huddleston (Al). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
