He was predeceased by: his parents, Kendall B. Stookey and Glenna D. Stookey (Wood); and his sister Phyllis Baumgartner. He is survived by: his wife Linda Stookey of Leesburg; his children, Eric Stookey (Amy) of Lakeland, TN and Lisa McAdam (James) of Coventry, RI; his grandchildren, Evan, Delaney Stookey, Macy and Owen McAdam; and his brother Robert Stookey (Sue) of Huntington Beach, CA.
