He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Anderson Hedge and Effie L. Hedge (Harshbarger); his wife Mary Ellen Hedge (Hamilton); his sons, Donald Ray Hedge and Jerry Lee Hedge; and his siblings, Earl E. Hedge, Mary J. Hedge, Lois B. Sharp, Pauline E. Terrill and Donna M. Anderson.

He is survived by: his close friend Ella B. Turner; his children, Linda Kay Thoman (Reg) of Brownsburg and Dale Dean Hedge (Titi) of Lebanon; his granddaughter Theresa Pena; and his siblings, Larry Hedge (Judy) of Lebanon, Barbara Tanselle of Lebanon, Betty Kouns of Mecca and Patty Goladay of Lebanon. He is also survived by her grandparents; nine great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Myers Mortuary (1502 N Lebanon St, Lebanon, IN 46052). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
