He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bennett "Roy" and Thelma Shepherd (Prater); his wife Carolyn A. Neal; his granddaughter Stacey Stanger; his brother Jim Shepherd; his half-brother Jerry Shepherd; and his siblings-in-law, Mark, Marilyn Witham (Neal) and Stanley Neal.
He is survived by: his sons, Bruce Shepherd (Linda) and Steven; his grandchildren, Amy Mockobee, Aaron Shepherd, Brittany Shepherd, Rebekah Shepherd and Drew Shepherd; his stepgrandchildren, Katie Day, Donnie Starwalt, Chris Gee (Maria), Jennifer Lockhart (Rob) and Stephanie Hughes (Brad); and his half-siblings, Linda Clark and David Shepherd.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Browns Wonder Cemetery to help with maintenance, 1626 Douglas Lane, Lebanon, IN 46052.
