In loving memory of Janice Lavonne Schortinghuis of Lebanon, Indiana, born in Wayne, Nebraska, who departed this world on February 14, 2025 at the age of 89. Though Janice Lavonne may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Janice Lavonne touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Erwin H. Vahlkamp and Hilda M. Vahlkamp (Frevert); and her husband David F. Schortinghuis. She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Amonett (Daniel) of Murfreesboro, TN, Diane Mills (Timothy) of Indianapolis, IN and Carol Jensen (Frank) of Lebanon, IN.; and her sister Lynelle Benshoof (Wilbur) of Goode, Virginia.. She is also survived by her daughter and seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (2625 Elm Swamp Rd, Lebanon, IN 46052). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and Trinity Lutheran Church.
